What it tests:

• Copper Ion Levels – ensures your pool has the right amount of copper for effective sanitation without staining or corrosion

• Total Alkalinity – helps stabilise pH and prevent water balance issues

Why it matters:

Maintaining proper water balance supports effective copper ion levels, prevents cloudy water, scaling, corrosion, and keeps the water soft and comfortable for swimmers. Weekly testing prevents issues before they start.

Ideal water balance:

• Recommended copper ion concentration: 0.5 – 0.6 ppm
• Recommended pH: 7.2 – 7.6
• Recommended Total Alkalinity: 80 – 120 ppm

Usage:

Copper Ion Test

1. Fill the test tube to the 10 mL line with sample water.
2. Add 5 drops of Copper A (P-6367), cap and mix.
3. Add 5 drops of Copper B (P-6368), cap and mix.
4. Wait 3 minutes for full color development.
5. Compare sample color to chart.
6. Rinse tube immediately after testing to avoid staining.

pH & Total Alkalinity Test

1. Follow the included instructions to measure pH and total alkalinity.
2. Compare sample colors to the chart to determine water balance.

Tip: Test copper, pH, and total alkalinity weekly, and more often during heavy pool use, hot weather, or after rain.
