The BioSwim XLS Oxidizer is a standalone chlorinator engineered to do the job of a traditional salt or chlorine system, sanitising your pool and keeping it crystal clear, while running on extra low salt.
XLS stands for exactly that: eXtra Low Salt.
Easily installed inline with your existing pool equipment, BioSwim XLS uses advanced electrolysis technology to convert a small amount of salt in your pool into chlorine, helping keep your pool clean, clear and ready to swim in.
Same dependable sanitising. A fraction of the salt.
Â
Installing your BioSwim XLS takes around 30 minutes and can be installed onto a new pool or an existing pool without requiring changes to your pool shell, pump or filter and with minimal pool preparation

Responsive service from the trusted fresh pool people
While your pump runs, the BioSwim XLS generates chlorine through a low-voltage electrolytic process, using a significantly lighter salt concentration than a standard salt chlorinator requires to do the same job. At the same time, it oxidises the organic waste swimmers bring into the pool, easing the ongoing demand on the system and helping keep water clear between clean cycles.
It’s the same fundamentals as a traditional chlorinator, reliable, chlorine-based sanitising, engineered to need far less salt to get there.
BioSwim XLS is a brand new Bionizer product. Bionizer has 26 years experience in pool sanitation and hundreds of verified 5 Star reviews on Google and Product Review
Yes. The BioSwim XLS converts low-level salt into chlorine while the filtration pump is operating. So it is fundamentally a chlorine-generating system, just designed to operate with lower salt and potentially lower chlorine levels than a conventional salt chlorinator.
?
2,000–2,500 ppm described is ideal. That’s about half the amount of regular salt-chlorinators.
Yes. BioSwim XLS can be retrofitted to most existing pool filtration systems.
No. If your current salt levels are above the ideal 2,000-2,500 ppm range upon installation the BioSwim XLS can still operate and the the salt levels will naturally drop with normal dilution from rain or top-ups.
Yes. Installation take approximately 30-minutes, see the BioSwim Handbook for installation instructions.
Yes. To keep the pool correctly balanced test the water weekly for pH, monthly for; alkalinity, phosphates, calcium hardness and stabiliser and TDS quarterly.
You’ll save money. You won’t be buying regular salt, stabiliser or other chemicals and you can reduce pump run times.
The only real ongoing cost is replacing the cell every few years.
Most filters work fine. We recommend changing your filter medium if it is more than 5 years old and make sure your cartridge is in good condition if you have a cartridge filter.
If the pool has a sand filter where the sand has not been changed for more than 5 years, we recommend to replace the sand with Pool Pro uncharged Glass Media as part of the installation.
We offer a back to base 3-year parts and labour warranty. This means if your BioSwim XLS breaks due to any fault of the manufacturing we will repair it at no charge, but the customer is responsible for shipping costs back to our warehouse in Redland Bay, QLD.
If you want the proven reliability of a chlorinator without the heavy salt load, the corrosion risk, or the ongoing salt costs of a standard system, the BioSwim XLS is built for exactly that. It suits most existing pools and new builds – concrete, fibreglass, and vinyl – and fits straight into your current filtration setup.
Same trusted chlorine sanitising. A fraction of the salt.
